Abstract
This Decree amends Decree No. 52.109 on species of native flora threatened with extinction in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. Amended articles deal with the following matters: periodic review of the list of endangered or regionally extinct native flora species will be coordinated by a Working Group to be set up under the Secretariat for Environment and Sustainable Development (SEMA), with the participation of representatives of universities and institutions related to biodiversity research. The periodic revision of the list will be made public by Resolution of the State Council for the Environment (CONSEMA). The Secretariat of the Environment and Sustainable Development (SEMA) should develop a project of compensatory and mitigating measures with the scope of: implementing an action plan with a view to minimizing the risks of extinction and for the monitoring and development of populations of endangered species listed in the Annexes; ensure conservation of the species locally in the Hydrographic Region or Conservation Unit; and promote actions to protect the species listed in the Annexes.
