Abstract
This Decree aims to declare the species of wild fauna in the State of São Paulo regionally extinct, those threatened with extinction, those almost threatened and those with insufficient data to assess their degree of conservation and the guidelines to which they are subject. This Decree defines as follows: I - endangered species: animals whose population is decreasing to the point of putting them at high risk of disappearing in nature in the near future; II - threaten categories: categories assigned to species, defined according to criteria and guidelines of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN): RE- Regionally Extinct; CR-Critically Endangered; EN- In Danger; VU-Vulnerable; NT-Near Threatened; DD-Insufficient Data. Species of wild fauna in the State of São Paulo are classified, according to their threat category: I – regionally extinct, as detailed in Annex I; II - threatened with extinction, as described in Annex I; III - almost threatened with extinction, listed in Annex II; IV – with insufficient data to assess its threat category, contained in Annex III; V – threatened with extinction, which must have a fisheries management plan, contained in Annex IV.
