Abstract
This Decree, consisting of 10 articles and 1 Annex, defines endangered wildlife species and those near to be threatened within the State of São Paulo. The Annex specifies vertebrate and invertebrate wildlife animal endangered species within the State of São Paulo according to the Complementary Law No. 140 of 8 December 2011, determines as administrative action of the State to draw up the list of wild fauna and flora endangered species in its territory through reports and technical and scientific studies, promoting activities to preserve wild species "in situ".

Law No. 9.605 regulating Criminal and Administrative Penalties relating to behaviour and activities harmful to the environment, and sets forth other provisions.

Decree No. 63.853 declaring the species of wild fauna in the State of São Paulo regionally extinct, those threatened with extinction, those almost threatened and those with insufficient data for evaluation.
