Abstract
This Decree, consisting of 8 articles, creates the Amazon Fund established by the National Bank for Economic and Social Development - BNDES. This Fund aims at granting non-reimbursable investments for the prevention, monitoring and combating deforestation and promoting conservation and sustainable use of the Amazon biome, for following areas: Management of public forests and protected areas; environmental monitoring; sustainable forest management; economic activities based on the sustainable use of forests; Ecological and Economic Zoning, land use planning and land regulation; conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity; and rehabilitation of deforested areas.
