This Decree regulates Act 7.802 concerning research, production, labelling, packaging, exploitation, classification, use, etc. of pesticides. It consists of 122 articles defining pesticides, their toxicity, different categories, etc. It lays down composition, competencies and duties of authorities entitled for managing and carrying out controls on this sector (specifying the requirements for registration, classification, information to be displayed on labels, packaging, etc.). It also concerns pesticides used for research, lists prohibited pesticides, establishes the requirements to be satisfied for producing and using the aforementioned products, etc. It prescribes controls to be carried out and sanctions to be paid by offenders for using unauthorized pesticides.
