Decree No. 9.891 creating the State Plan for Mitigation/Adaptation to Climate Change and Sustainability in Agriculture and Livestock.

This Decree creates the State Plan for Mitigation/Adaptation to Climate Change and Sustainability in Agriculture and Livestock for the consolidation of a low-carbon economy. The Plan has the following objectives: reduce emissions of greenhouse gas in agriculture; promote and encourage sustainable technologies and innovations in agriculture to contribute to the preservation of the environment, with payment for environmental services and with the improvement of the microclimate, macroclimate, soil and water resources; propose monitoring and evaluation strategies; enable the adoption of policies that lead to the development of a competitive and sustainable agricultural economy; propose adjustments to federal, state, municipal and territorial public policies to the needs of the harmonious growth of agricultural production sectors and activities, always from the perspective of sustainable development and the ecology of the existing biomes in Goiás; propose sustainable rural development activities, etc.
