Abstract
This Law, composed of 13 articles, provides the definition and aims of the organic agricultural production systems. It introduces a compulsory certification procedure to be further specified by the implementing regulation. All natural and legal persons producing, transporting, commercializing or storing organic products are obliged to regularize their activities before the competent authorities.
This Law considers as organic farming system all specific techniques which are adopted by optimizing the use of natural and socioeconomic resources, respecting cultural integrity of rural communities, with the objective of economic and ecological sustainability, maximization of social benefits and minimizing dependence on non-renewable energy. This concept extends to ecological, biodynamic, natural, regenerative, biological, agro-ecological and other production systems, that comply with the principles established in this Law.
