Law No. 12.506 creating the Technical Unit, called Agriculture and Livestock Protection and Control Agency (ADAGRO).

This Law, consisting of 14 articles and 4 Annexes, creates the Technical Unit, called Agriculture and Livestock Protection and Control Agency (ADAGRO). It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of this State authority entitled to promote and implement the animal and plant sanitary protection, control and carry out inspection on any products originated from animals or plant, in particular: planning, designing, coordinating and performing programmes of sanitary procedures promotion, controlling in entrance, transport, trade of any product, sub-product and derivates from animal and plant origin; carry out research, mapping and monitoring necessary zoo-phytosanitary measures within the territory of the State, analyzing infrastructures and actions in order to prevent and control animal and plant pest and disease; performing any activity related to sanitary procedures and registration of animal and plant products.
