Abstract
This Law provides for equal pay and remuneration criteria, in accordance with the regulations, between women and men for carrying out work of equal value or performing the same function and amends Consolidation of Labour Laws, approved by Decree-Law No. 5.452 of 1 May 1943. In the event of discrimination based on sex, race, ethnicity, origin or age, the payment of salary differences owed to the discriminated employee does not preclude their right to claim compensation for moral damages, considering the specificities of the specific case.
