Abstract
This Law establishes the National Policy to Combat Food Loss and Waste (PNCPDA) and creates the Food Donor Seal. The objectives of the PNCPDA are: to increase the use of foodstuffs available for human consumption in the national territory; to mitigate food waste, thereby contributing to the reduction of food insecurity; to promote a culture of food donation intended for: a) human consumption, as a priority; b) animal consumption; c) use in composting or the production of biomass for energy generation, if unfit for human and animal consumption; to encourage commercial establishments that deal with food to promote education and awareness to combat waste, either within their own institutions or by supporting educational projects in this area.
