A central objective of the Law is the creation and empowerment of the State Water and Sanitation Services Regulatory Agency (ARSAE‑MG), responsible for regulating, supervising, and monitoring service providers. Through ARSAE‑MG, the Law aims to establish transparent tariff regulation, ensure compliance with technical and operational standards, protect consumer rights, and maintain the economic‑financial balance of services. The Law further seeks to strengthen institutional governance, improve accountability, support investment planning and infrastructure maintenance, and foster efficiency and continuity in water supply and sanitation services, contributing to long‑term public health, environmental sustainability, and regional development.
