Abstract
This Law provides for unoccupied lands belonging to the State of Goiás. The allocation of unoccupied State lands will be compatible with the National Agrarian Reform Plan and agricultural policy, in accordance with the relevant constitutional and legal provisions. The allocation of these lands to occupants or settlers will only apply to areas duly and effectively explored, plus areas of legal reserve, permanent preservation and unusable lands, which are within the perimeter of the applicant's occupation. The State will promote measures allowing the rational and economic use of unoccupied lands under its domain, ensuring that everyone who lives and works there has the opportunity to access property, in order to meet the principles of social justice, agricultural development and social function of the property. The State may only directly or indirectly exploit lands under its control for the purposes of research, environmental preservation, experimentation, demonstration, reforestation and promotion, aiming at agricultural development and settlement projects, also, for educational and technical assistance purposes.
