Abstract
This Law, consisting of 10 articles, establishes the Programme for the Certification of Agricultural, Livestock and Agroindustrial Products (Certifica Minas). The Programme for Certification aims at assuring the quality of agricultural, livestock and agroindustrial products produced in the State and the sustainability of its production systems, providing these products a greater competitiveness by putting them on national and international markets. The certification will be given through the granting of a Certificate and the Certifica Minas Conformity Seal. Certifica Minas will have specific categories for the certification of different agricultural, livestock and agroindustrial products, in the form of regulation. The objectives of Certifica Minas are: improving the process of management of agricultural, livestock and agroindustrial activities in the State; optimizing the use of inputs and natural resources in order to promote the economic, social and environmental sustainability of agricultural, livestock and agroindustrial activities; providing more competitive conditions for the commercialization of these products produced in the State; increasing the generation of employment and income in establishments that have certified products.
