Abstract
This Law amends arts. 1 and 2 of Law No. 14.009 of 5 October 2001 as follows: The State will adopt measures to encourage the development of beekeeping in line with the State agricultural development policy, as covered by Law No. 11.405 of 28 January 1994. Bees and other species of honey insects or Native pollinators, in addition to the native honey flora, are objects of protection, conservation and preservation in the State. In addition, the following guidelines will be observed for beekeeping: carry out preventive actions against the destruction of bees and other species of honey insects or native pollinators; identify and disseminate f areas with the greatest beekeeping potential in the State; certify the production of honey and other beekeeping products; encourage cooperatives and other forms of associations among beekeepers; develop traceability systems for honey and other beekeeping products; develop research aimed at improving beekeeping activities, production technologies and product quality; technical assistance to beekeepers, etc.
