Abstract
This Law, consisting of 32 articles divided into five Chapters, establishes the Coastal Ecological-Economic Zoning of the Southern Coasts of Sergipe, as mentioned in Law No. 8.634 of 27 December 2019 and amended by Law No. 8.924 of 22 November 2021. The Southern Coasts of Sergipe are considered to be the land strip that comprises the stretch that goes from the Vaza-Barris River to the Real River and the marine strip that extends for 12 nautical miles. The licensing and inspection of projects to be developed in each Zone must be carried out based on the norms, guidelines and criteria recommended in this Law, without prejudice to other Federal, State and Municipal legal provisions and international treaties, to which Brazil is a signatory, specific protection of the environment and the territorial rights of traditional peoples and communities. The Coastal Ecological-Economic Zoning of the Southern Coasts of Sergipe aims to regulate the territorial planning necessary for the sustainable development of the coastal zone, dividing it into territorial zones identified from the needs of protection, conservation and recovery of natural resources, in addition to the recognition, appreciation and respect for the socio-environmental and cultural diversity of the peoples of traditional communities in all aspects addressed in Federal Decree No. 6.040 of 7 February 2007.
