Abstract
This Norm establishes the harmfulness of the wild boar and provides about its management and control. It declares the harmfulness of the exotic species wild boar-European (scientific name: Sus scrofa) in all its forms, lineages, races and different degrees of crossing with the domestic pig. This Norm does not apply to the population of feral pigs of the Pantanal (Sus scrofa) known as (porco-monteiro ou porco-do-pantanal). This Norm authorizes the control of the wild boar population living in wildlife throughout the national territory. Control of the wild boar is considered to be the pursuit, slaughter, capture and marking of species followed by release for tracing, capture followed by elimination, and direct elimination. The control of wild boar will be carried out by physical means, according to art. 10 of Law No. 5.197 of 3 January 1967, and other normative acts that regulate this matter.
