Abstract
This Order establishes the internal regulations of the National Commission for the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation, Conservation of Forest Carbon Stocks, Sustainable Management of Forests and Increase of Forest Carbon Stocks (REDD+) in Brazil- CONAREDD+. The National Commission for REDD+ - CONAREDD+, established by Decree No. 8.576 of 26 November 2015, is a collegiate body of normative, deliberative and advisory nature, whose purpose is to: coordinate, monitor the implementation of the National Strategy for REDD+ and coordinate the preparation of the necessary elements for Brazil to access payments for REDD+ results. In the exercise of its duties, CONAREDD+ will be guided by the use of REDD+ as a financing instrument for sustainable development, in line with Decree No. 8.576 and with a view to achieving the commitments assumed by Brazil in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement.
