Resolution SEMA No. 22/2014 establishing a temporary suspension for a period of 180 days the prohibition of use of gillnets and any kind of cast throw net.

This Resolution, consisting of 3 articles, establishes a temporary suspension for a period of 180 (one hundred eighty) days of the effects of Resolution SEMA No. 17/2014, which prohibits the use of gillnets (single or trammel nets) and any kind of cast throw net in public waters, located in lakes, reservoirs or dams under the jurisdiction of the State of Paraná. It creates a Technical Working Group (the composition is specified in the text) to define criteria to establish public places, as well as the effectiveness of the ban to preserve fish in the water of lakes, reservoirs and public dams, in order to prevent any impacts caused by overfishing.
