Resolution SMA No. 49 providing for procedures for environmental licensing with environmental impact assessment under the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo (CETESB).

This Resolution, consisting of 12 articles, establishes procedures for environmental licensing with environmental impact assessment under the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo (CETESB). The procedures, aiming to issue Previous License (LP) to projects or activities considered too small or not significantly affecting the environmental impact, begin with following administrative issue: filing the Simplified Environmental Study (EAS), within the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo CETESB. After analysing the Simplified Environmental Study (EAS), the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo - CETESB may consider that the proposed activity or project will require more in-depth environmental studies, such as Preliminary Environmental Report (RAP), or Environmental Impact Study and its Environmental Impact Report (EIA/RIMA).
