Boat Registration (Amendment) Act, 2024 (No. 5 of 2024).

This Act makes amendments in the principal Act. Section 6 of the principal Act is amended regarding the requirements for initial registration and inspection. New section 8A is inserted into the principal Act, laying down the obligation of the owner or operator of the boat to procure a comprehensive insurance policy. New section 13A is inserted into the principal Act, as regards the cancellation of the registration of a boat. Section 16 of the principal Act, setting out offences and penalties, is amended. This Act also amends First Schedule to the principal Act that determines fees for boat registration and the Second Schedule that determines fees for master's license.
