Abstract
This Act places restrictions on the use, manufacture and sale of controlled substances (as specified the First Schedule to this Act) for purposes of giving effect in the Bahamas to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that deplete the Ozone Layer. No person shall use a controlled substance for agricultural and other purposes unless otherwise specified. The Act provides for a monitoring and control mechanism for the sale and purchase of controlled substances. The Act also prohibits certain release of controlled substances into the atmosphere and empowers to Minister to make Regulations for purposes of this Act and to amend the Schedules.
