Abstract
This Act makes provision for measures for the prevention of the spreading of plant diseases and pests in the Bahamas.
The Governor-General may appoint inspectors for purposes of this Act. The Act grants powers to the Minister to regulate the importation of plants and prohibits the importation of plants or plant-related material which is not in accordance with such rules. The Minister may also regulate movement and other handling of plants and plant-related materials such as soil, but may also restrict the movement of persons or animals for purposes of this Act. The Act further specifies powers of inspectors and defines offences.
