Abstract
This Act makes amendments in the principal Act. New definitions are inserted in Section 2 of the principal Act. New section 6A is inserted into the principal Act, laying down the purposes of regulations for marine traffic, such as safe navigation and prevention of marine pollution. New additional subsections are inserted into Section 19 as regards the duties of the Port Controller. Section 41A on seabed lease is amended. This Act inserts into the principal Act: new Section 28A regarding the entry into an agreement by the Minister for the upkeep and maintenance of lights, lighthouses and navigational structures within The Bahamas; new Section 40B on automatic identification system; new Section 75A on penalty for using seabed area without a lease; new Section 77A on offences committed by companies; and new Sixth Schedule as regards the application for seabed lease agreement.
