Abstract
This Act makes provision for the protection of interests of consumers in Botswana. It establishes the Consumer Protection Office and makes provisions with respect to complaints and investigations and the institution of court proceedings.
The Consumer Protection Office shall, subject to the control of the Minister, be responsible for the administration of this Act. Furthermore it shall, among other things, preside over disputes of unfair business practices with the objective of assisting the parties to the dispute to reach settlement. Any consumer may lodge a complaint against an alleged unfair business practice with the Office.
