Decree No. 13 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food validating Veterinary and Sanitary Regulation on manufacturing of foodstuffs out of grapevine snails (Helix pomatia)and other mollusks, procurement and transportation of grapevine snails (Helix pomatia).

This Decree sets forth mandatory requirements for production lines and processing premises for manufacturing of foodstuffs out of grapevine snails (Helix pomatia)and other mollusks, procurement and transportation of grapevine snails (Helix pomatia). The aforesaid requirements shall be applicable to legal persons and individual entrepreneurs carrying out manufacturing of foodstuffs out of the aforesaid molluscs. Flows of raw materials, ready food and waste shall not intersect on processing premises. The presence of production lines for the manufacturing of animal feed and technical product on the territory of foodstuffs production premises shall be prohibited. Incoming grapevine snails (Helix pomatia) and other mollusks shall be subject to organoleptic examination and laboratory testing, and shall comply with food quality and food safety requirements.
