Abstract
This Law sets forth legal and organizational grounds for identification, registration, traceability of agricultural animals (herds), and identification and traceability of foodstuffs of animal origin with a view of obtaining reliable data related thereto. It shall be applicable to breeding, keeping, transfer, slaughtering, trade and other issues related to management of agricultural animals (herds) on the national territory and also processing and trade and recycling of foodstuffs of animal origin. In particular, the provisions of this Law shall be applicable to meat, milk and dairy products. State regulation of the aforesaid issues shall be performed by public authorities. State information system shall contain data related to owners of agricultural animals (herds), registration of animals (herds) and registration of the means of identification. Authorized state institution shall be responsible for the issuance of agricultural animal certificate. Agricultural animals shall be identified by tags, marking and microchips. Identification number of animals shall be unique and shall not be re-issued after death loss or slaughtering of the animals.
