Ministerial Decree No. 1590 validating the Regulation on the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food shall the authorized state institution subordinated to the Council of Ministers responsible for carrying out the state policy in the sphere of agricultural production and agricultural development. The Ministry shall carry out the following functions: (a) introduction of new agricultural crops, pedigree stock, new processing technologies of agricultural commodities, raising fish farming productivity and stock enhancement of fishing waterbodies; (b) centralized use of grain; (c) common policy related to seed production, crop variety testing and plant protection; (d) safety of GMOs; (e) rational land use; and (f) food quality control and food safety.
