Abstract
The present Regulation determines the modalities of carrying out monitoring of wildlife and radiation, and use of data thereof. Monitoring of wildlife is integral part of environmental monitoring. Objects of monitoring of wildlife are wild animals (mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fishes, molluscs, insects and others) living in state of natural freedom on land and in water, in atmosphere and in soil populating permanently or temporarily the national territory. Monitoring of wildlife species regards: 1) game; 2) aquatic animals; 3) protected animals recorded in the Red Book; 4) natural habitats of game and aquatic species subject to catch and recorded in the Red Book.
Data collection, processing, reporting storage in data banks of data and information obtained as a result of monitoring of wildlife shall be carried out by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. Monitoring of radiation is integral part of environmental monitoring. Objects of monitoring of radiation are atmospheric air, soil, surface water and groundwater. The purpose of monitoring of radiation is to control: 1) natural radiation background; 2) radiation background in the areas of impact of potential sources of radioactive waste, including transboundary movement of radioactive waste; 3) radioactive contamination of atmospheric air, soil, surface water and groundwater of areas subject to radioactive contamination as a result of Chernobyl nuclear power station disaster.
