Order No. 188 on artisanal fishing, including underwater hunting, and catch of aquatic invertebrates for personal consumption, and also a list of waterbodies concerning the organization of artisanal fishing.

The present Order establishes the appropriate rules related to artisanal fishing to be carried out by means of authorized fishing gear, underwater hunting and fishnets in waterbodies approved by the Ministry and also in waterbodies granted on lease.The list of waterbodies shall be authorized for artisanal fishing with the use of fishnets once in five years, and for underwater hunting and catch of aquatic invertebrates for personal consumption annually. Artisanal fishing shall be organized for the purpose of a fuller and more rational use of fish stocks. Artisanal fishing can be carried out by Belarusian nationals, foreigners and stateless persons of eighteen years of age and over. All fish species and aquatic invertebrates except for species prohibited or restricted for fishing shall be subject to artisanal fishing and underwater hunting. Artisanal fishing shall be carried out by citizens all the year round except for prohibited fishing seasons. The form of the fishing authorization shall be the same for the whole of the national territory being valid for the period specified therein; an identity card and an underwater hunter certificate shall also be requested.
