Presidential Decree No. 444 validating the Regulation on allocation of the plots of forest fund to legal persons in lease and (or) in use with a view of forest management.

This Presidential Decree establishes the modalities of allocation of the plots of forest fund to legal persons in lease and (or) in use with a view of forest management related to the following activities: (a) timber extraction; (b) procurement of soft resin; (c) procurement of non-timber products; (d) procurement of edible forest products, haymaking, grazing; and (e) recreational use of forests. Plots of forest fund shall be conceded for timber extraction exclusively to legal persons carrying out timber processing. The period of concession of the plots of forest fund in lease shall be determined by state body or organization and it shall not exceed 15 years. Contractual arrangements shall be regulated by forest management contract. Model form of contract shall be validated by the Ministry of Forest Management.
