Abstract
This Resolution gives a new classification of intermediate felling and other felling. The following types of felling are classified as intermediate-use felling: (a) forest-tending felling (thinning, clearing, passage felling); (b) reconstruction felling; (c) renewal felling; (d) felling for the formation (reformation) of forest stands; (e) thinning for the tending of undergrowth. The following types of felling are classified as other felling: (a) clear sanitary felling; (b) selective sanitary felling; (c) removal of litter; (d) forest felling carried out when laying quarter clearings, creating fire breaks and maintaining them; (e) felling of trees that interfere with the passage of logging equipment when transporting timber from logging areas along the established logging network; (f) cutting of access roads to the logging area; (g) felling carried out for the purpose of carrying out preparatory work; (h) felling of plantation forest crops; (i) felling of trees that are intermediate hosts of forest pests and diseases, outside the boundaries of existing and planned forest nurseries and forest seed plantations; (j) felling of trees left in the felling area for the purpose of forest reproduction (seed trees); (k) felling of trees and shrubs of invasive species; (l) felling of trees and shrubs for the care of plants belonging to species included in the Red Book of endangered species of the Republic of Belarus or protected in accordance with international treaties of the Republic of Belarus, and (or) their parts; (m) felling of strips of growing coniferous plantations in the inter-focal space and along the edges of drying coniferous plantations; (n) felling of trees on forest seed plantations; (o) felling of forests during clearing of forest fund areas from forest plantations for the construction and maintenance of forest nurseries, forest seed plantations, selection and genetic species, roads, utilities, other linear structures, geological study of the subsoil; (p) cutting of firing lines; (q) felling of trees for feeding wild animals; felling of trees that are dangerous in relation to highways, public railways, overhead communication lines and power lines; (r) felling of trees that pose a danger to the lives of citizens; (s) logging carried out to remove obstacles in the form of forest plantations and (or) individual trees that pose a threat to the safety of aircraft flights; (t) felling of individual trees on forest land; (u) felling of individual trees in the border strip and border zone; (v) felling of low-value forest plantations for the procurement of timber for fuel, energy and technological purposes; (w) logging carried out during measures to prevent open swamps from being overgrown with woody and shrubby vegetation; (x) logging carried out during measures to preserve and restore (reintroduce) populations of wild animals and wild plants related to species included in the Red Book of endangered species of the Republic of Belarus or protected in accordance with international treaties of the Republic of Belarus, and (or) their parts; (y) felling of trees during the allocation of logging areas, the establishment of sample plots, forest management, forest pathology monitoring, and radiation monitoring in forests, felling of trees when extinguishing forest fires, repairing and reconstructing forestry roads, drainage systems; and (z) felling of trees during scientific research, prospecting, geodetic work, felling of undergrowth and (or) shrubs.
