Belize National Standard for Rice – Specification (BZS 20: 2015 Revised).

This standard is formulated to improve the quality of rice being produced and sold on the local and overseas market. It is intended to be compulsory for farmers, millers, exporters, importers and other related personnel. This standard establishes requirements for grades of paddy, cargo rice, milled rice, cargo parboiled rice and milled parboiled rice. It also specifies the general conditions for sampling and the methodologies for assessing the various factors used in determining the quality of rice, including maximum residue limits and nutrients that are added. The packaging and labelling, transport and storage standards are also laid down.
