Abstract
The present Regulations enact section 25 of the Environmental Protection Act. In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to discharges into the ambient air. Section 2 establishes that no person shall discharge a contaminant into the air from any industrial source, incinerator or fuel burning equipment without a permit. The text – consisting of 10 sections – deals with the following matters: determination of ambient air contaminant level, exemption, permit application, information, initial permit, fees for permit, issue or refusal of permit, expiry of permit, alteration of terms, accidental or emergency release or discharge, prohibited burning, storage and penalty.
