Abstract
These Regulations lay down the discipline for animal feed. Under Approval and registration of Feed they identify feeds that must be approved and feeds that must be registered; requirements for approval and registration; evaluation and decision making process; listing and cancellation; assignment, issuance and use of registration number. Other provisions concern general standards and prohibitions on feed content, such as: a feed must not present a risk of harm to human or animal health or the environment; a feed must not contain: weed seeds at a certain level that could present a risk of harm to animal health or the environment, mould or damage from heat that would render it unfit for consumption by livestock, or cause it to present a risk of harm to human or animal health when fed in proportions commonly use, etc. The Regulations provide as well for: labelling discipline (content, location, language; feed names; investigation, complain and recalls; seizure and detention. Shaded provisions in this document are not yet in force and regulate: feed licensing; packaging; preventive control measures and plan; import of feeds; and traceability.
