Abstract
This Act is divided into 5 Parts. Many sections have been repealed since passed. The purpose and intent of this Part I, Marketing, provides for the control and regulation of the marketing of freshwater fish, locally within the province. Sections 8, 9 and 10 establish requirements for licensing, dealing, purchasing and processing fish and also specific exceptions. Part II is fully repealed. Part II.1 deals with licensing permits. Part II.2 outlines enforcement application procedures. Part III contains details on fisherman's loans. The Lending Agency will receive money from the consolidated fund, (sect. 19 (1)); its authority to provide loans is given to it under section 21. Part IV deals with general dispositions, and includes Offences and Penalties, Disposal of property, (sect. 29), and Reports by minister (sect. 31). Part V highlights the quota entitlement system. This refers to a right of a fisherman, to fish a certain quantity of one or more species of fish, in a particular area and for a particular season, for commercial purposes.
