Abstract
The present Act lays down provisions relating to the production of food. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed such as “agricultural product”, “marine product”, “fresh water product”, “dairy product”. The underlying idea is that no-one shall prepare or keep for sale food intended for human consumption that is unfit for human consumption. The text consists of 8 chapters as follows: Definitions and application (I); General provisions (II); Registration and permits (III); Suspension, cancellation, refusal to renew a permit; proceedings before the Administrative Tribunal of Québec (IV); Inspections and seizures (V); Regulations (VI); Penal provisions (VII); Final provisions (VIII).
