Abstract
This Act applies to land that is part of an agricultural land reserve under the Agricultural Land Commission Act. It is divided into 7 Parts, entitled as follows: Interpretation (1); Forest Land Commission (2); Forest land reserve (3); Removal of land from the reserve (4); Procedures for applications to the Commission (5); General (6); Transitional (7).
Part 2, section 3 provides for the continuation of the Forest Land Commission whose object is to "minimize the impact of urban development on forest reserve land and to work to this end with local governments, first nations and other communities of interest". The Commission may pass bylaws and regulations (sect. 7). Part 3 defines and regulates the use of forest land reserve, both Crown and private lands. Owners of private land may apply to the Commission for the removal of land from the reserve, and the Lieutenant Governor in Council may, by order, remove Crown lands from the reserve, according to Part 4. The remainder of the Act deals with procedures, inspections, enforcement and miscellaneous matters.
