Abstract
This Regulation delegates to the Livestock Identification Services Ltd., LIS, some of the powers, duties and functions attributed by the Livestock and Livestock Products Act to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development. Section 2 sets the conditions to which the delegation is subject and specifies the activities that can be carried out by LIS. Section 5 contains provisions on appeals against actions or decisions taken by LIS. Section 6 provides for access to information and protection of privacy. Under section 10, the Minister or a person on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development may, at any reasonable time, enter and inspect any records and premises where LIS or any of its employees, agents or officers are carrying out a delegated power, duty or function for the purposes of determining whether LIS is carrying out its delegated powers, duties and functions in compliance with the applicable legislation.
