Abstract
An Act relative to the the inspection, weighing, grading, packing and marking of livestock and the weighing, grading, sampling, testing and analysing of livestock products. "Livestock" means horses, cattle, sheep, swine, goats, fur-bearing animals raised in captivity, game-production animals within the meaning of the Livestock Industry Diversification Act, live poultry and bee. "Livestock products" means meat, raw hides, raw furs, dressed poultry, eggs, wool and honey in any form. Section 3 creates to the possibility to licences persons dealing in livestock and livestock products. The Minister may appoint any persons he considers necessary as inspectors for the purposes set out in section 16. A person who owns or has the control or management of a packing plant or a slaughter house shall on the purchase of any livestock or livestock products either by him or by another person on his behalf: (a) immediately on delivery have the livestock or livestock products weighed; (b) make out and sign a statement in writing setting out the true weight and grade of the livestock or livestock products; and (c) immediately thereafter deliver the statement or send it by mail to the person from whom the purchase was made.
