Abstract
The present Regulation is enacted under the Animal Health Act. For the purpose of the present Regulation “livestock market” means a place that is operated as a public market for the purchase and sale, or either of them, of livestock or for the receiving of livestock by an operator on consignment; “livestock assembling station” means a place that is operated to assemble livestock for shipment by any form of transportation and includes any premises maintained with respect to the movement of livestock by a common carrier as a convenience to the public. The text – consisting of 14 sections – deals with the following aspects: records, inspector’s access to records, construction and maintenance requirements, sale of young livestock, unloading livestock, care and handling of livestock, sanitation and other requirements, cleaning, assistance to inspectors, prohibition of use of area or structure.

Entry into force notes
For the purpose of ensuring its revision, this Regulation expires on 30 November 2015.
Notes
The present Regulation is consolidated up to 189/2012.The present Regulation repeals the Livestock Assembling Station Regulation (AR 269/79) and the Livestock Market Regulation (AR 344/79).
