Abstract
The present Regulation enacts the Farm Products Marketing Act. The general purpose of this plan is to provide for the promotion, regulation and management of the production and marketing of the regulated products by the Board, in Manitoba. The specific purposes of this plan are: a) to maintain fair and equitable prices for the regulated products for producers; b) to develop and maintain systems for the orderly production and marketing of the regulated products; c) to provide a uniform high quality of the regulated products for the market; d) to maintain adequate advertising and promotion of the regulated products; e) to encourage a continuous supply of the regulated products for the trade; (f) to gather, compile and distribute statistical information related to the production and marketing of the regulated products; and g) to participate in associations that are relevant to the potato or root crop industries. Section 3 establishes "Peak of the Market", continued by Manitoba Regulation 249/87 R, is continued as a Board. The text – consisting of 29 sections deals with the following aspects: Peak of the Market, general powers of the Board, Specific powers of the Board, Regulations and Orders requiring Council approval, certification of facilities and transitional provisions.
