Abstract
Purposes of this Act are to: a) stimulate, increase and improve the producing of milk within Ontario; b) provide for the control and regulation in any or all respects of the producing or marketing within Ontario of milk, cream or cheese, or any combination thereof, including the prohibition of such producing or marketing in whole or in part; and c) provide for the control and regulation in any or all respects of the quality of milk, milk products and fluid milk products within Ontario. The Act contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms employed therein such as, for example, “administrative agreement”, “administrative authority”, “agreement”, “Commission”, “fluid milk products”, “industrial milk”, “milk product”, “milk transfer station”, “plant”. The Duties and responsibilities of the Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission are, inter alia to: a) develop and formulate policies to stimulate and improve the marketing of milk and milk products; b)select, develop and maintain research programs; c) inquire into the efficiency of such policies and their implementation; d) cooperate with the Canadian Dairy Commission or any other governmental agency. The Act consists of 29 sections.
