Abstract
These regulations establish a grade for all products to be known as “organic grade”. An organic grade product is one that is certified by a certification body as meeting the Canadian Organic Standards and the federal organic products regulations. These REgulations apply to all products produced or processed in the Province and sold in the Province. Multi-ingredient products are hereby designated as products under clause 165(d) of the Act. The use of any of the following terms or similar words, including abbreviations of, symbols for and phonetic renderings of those words is deemed to be representing a product as organic grade: organic; organically grown; organically produced; organically raised; organic grade. A person must not use a business name that contains any of these terms in connection with a product unless the product meets the requirements for organic grade. A person who produces or prepares a product that is certified as organic grade in accordance with these regulations must maintain the records required by Section 351 of the federal organic products regulations.
