Abstract
The present Regulations are made under the Pest Control Products Act (S.C. 2002, c. 28). The Regulations govern the application of pesticides with respect to approvals, training, documentation, storage, labelling and disposal. Only pesticides that are registered for use under the afore-mentioned Act can be used in Canada. If the federal government considers that a particular pesticide poses an unacceptable risk to human health and the environment, it can ban it from use by refusing registration. The present Regulations aim to promote pest management strategies that rely on non-toxic alternatives or integrated pest management (IPM). The text consists of 75 sections and 3 Schedules.
