Abstract
The purpose of the present Act is to ensure the continuation of the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority and to regulated matters relating to water rights. The mandate and purposes of the corporation are, inter alia, the following to: a) to manage, administer, develop, control and protect the water, watersheds and related land resources of Saskatchewan; b) promote the economical and efficient use, distribution and conservation of the waters; c) maintain and enhance the quality and availability of the waters for domestic, agricultural, industrial, recreational and other purposes; d) promote and co-ordinate the management, administration, development, conservation, protection and control of the waters; e) promote, undertake and co-ordinate research, investigations, surveys, studies, programs and activities relating to the management, administration, development, conservation, protection and control of the waters; f) promote, undertake and co-ordinate conservation programmes in Saskatchewan.
