Abstract
This Act aims at the conservation and management of wildlife in Prince Edward Island. Under section 2, the property in all wildlife situated within the province, while in the state of nature, is vested in Her Majesty in right of the province. Sections 4 to 6 are dedicated to conservation officers, their functions and powers. Sections 7 and 8 concern endangered, threatened and vulnerable species, section 9 migratory birds and sections 10 to 15 permits and licences. Sections 16 is dedicated to fishing and shooting preserves and wildlife management areas, Section 18 provides for conservation agreements to be entered by the Minister with private landowners for the protection of wildlife habitats. Section 19 spells out prohibited activities related to wildlife, sections 20 to 27 provide for the enforcement of the Act. Under section 28, the Lieutenant Governor in Council is empowered to pass all regulation necessary for the implementation of the Act, the section spells out what can be subject matter for regulation.
