Abstract
The present Ordinance implements the Federal Environment Protection Act of 7 October 1983. To protect human beings and their natural environment the present Ordinance aims at: a) ensuring precautionary measures and creating damage protection in case of hazardous chemical incidents; b) ensuring immediate protective measures in case of incidents involving radioactive substances and ionising radiation until the damage protection unit is operative. The present Ordinance consists of 40 articles divided into 5 Parts as follows: Principles (I); Precautionary measures (II);Hazard incidents (III); Costs (IV); Final provisions (V).
Entry into force notes
The present Ordinance enters into force on 1 August 1988.
Notes
The present Ordinance is consolidated as of 1 January 2011.
