Abstract
This Action Plan for Grain Conservation and Anti-Food Waste is a policy document at the national level. The Action Plan is formulated to promote the implementation of the Food Security Law and the Anti-Food Waste Law, accelerate the formation of a practical and effective long-term mechanism for grain and food conservation, and intensify efforts to solve the problems of grain loss and food waste.
The Action Plan sets clear phased objectives, aiming that by 2027: A long-term mechanism for grain and food conservation will be further refined; Systems for statistical surveys, standards, and indicators related to grain loss and food waste will be continuously improved; Loss rates during grain production, storage, transportation, and processing will be maintained below the international average; Per capita food waste per meal in sectors such as the catering industry, government canteens, school cafeterias, and corporate dining halls will significantly decrease, and food waste in the catering sector will be effectively curbed.
The Action Plan proposes key tasks such as food saving and loss reduction action, action to enhance the awareness of grain saving for all people, action to combat waste in the catering sector, action to combat waste in unit canteens, and action to strengthen statistical surveys on losses and waste.
