Abstract
These measures have the purpose of promoting the development of organic production, processing and trade, regulating the organic product certification activities, enhancing the quality and management level of organic products and protecting the ecological environment. The Measures consist of 46 articles divided into 7 Chapters: General provisions (I); Administration of institutions (II); Implementation of certification (III); Certification certificate and mark (IV); Supervision and inspection (V); Punishment provisions (VI); Supplementary provisions (VII). The Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the CNCA) shall be responsible for undertaking unified management, overall coordination and supervision over the certification and accreditation activities. An organic product certification institution shall publish the standards as the basis for organic product certification, the basic norms and rules for certification, fee standards and other information. The CNCA shall provide for the basic format of organic product certification certificate and the pattern of organic product certification mark and shall organize the local certification supervisory departments to conduct supervision and inspection over the certification, production, processing and sale of organic products.
