Abstract
These Measures are enacted in order to protect the lawful rights and interests of consumers, producers and sellers, further improve the quality of organic products, strengthen the administration of organic product certification. The Measures consist of 63 articles divided into 7 Chapters: General provisions (I); Administration of organic product certification institutions (II); Import of organic products(III); Certificates and marks (IV); Supervision and inspection (V); Punishment provisions (VI); Supplementary provisions (VII).
The Measures outlines responsibilities for certification bodies, inspection procedures, and the issuance of certification and sales documents. The Measures mandate traceability, environmental monitoring, and proper labeling, while prohibiting misleading use of “organic” terms. The Measures also set rules for imported organic products, requiring equivalency assessments and adherence to Chinese standards.
